Upcycled Pitchfork

As promised, I have a repurposed double project that I want to share with you. Keeping up with the 'Farmhousestyle' theme that I tend to gravitate to, I have upcycled this $5 goodwill pitchfork in to 2 really cool projects. Red isn't really my color, but I loved the aged patina on this and couldn't pass it up.

Project 1 : Cottonball Pitchfork

So there aren't a lot, if any, directions to give you here. First I cut the Pitchfork in half.

Then, I actually cut some cottonball stems off a swag I have hanging in my dining room. Next, I pulled out a burlap bow that I bought from Hobby Lobby last fall at 90% off. Sorry, I am bragging on my thriftiness here! I pulled this whole thing together with some twine and hot glue and you have yourself a classic piece of farmhouse décor - rust and all!

Project 2: Pitchfork Tiered Tray

Just a couple steps on this one as well. I drilled a hole through my galvanized tray into the handle base of the Pitchfork. Then, I drilled in a 2 1/2" screw. I picked up these little wooden 'feet' at Hobby Lobby and painted them red with a touch of black (I had to recreate the patina I loved in the handle). And that is it....Except for decorating your tray with fall goodies, pine cones, or even some yummy cupcakes!

Enjoy the following slideshow, and the next time you come across an old pitchfork I hope you either smile and think of this post and all the rustic potential, or you just walk past it and let me come behind you and buy it off the shelf!

Stay tuned to next week's blog to see what cuteness could possibly come from a .99 cent teddy bear and a $4 frame.

Thanks again for joining me on my DIY journey as I continue to cross off crazy projects from my craft bucket list! And if you still want more, I post daily on Facebook and Instagram under mycrazycraftbucketlist. If you are a hands on person and want to see it and touch it, visit my booths over at Alamo Craft Company, 6151 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, Mon-Sat 10-6.

Last thing, don't forget if you haven't done it already, to scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your email address where it says 'join our mailing list'. Then just click 'subscribe'

Happy Craftin' - Lori
