Mason Jar Ring Things!

Vacation at the beach was amazing...and I almost feel guilty when we get back and I dive back into a crazy craft project. I mean everyone has to get back to work after a little break; but I get to go back to 'craftin'! This is definitely my guilty pleasure!
So as promised in my last blog, I am going to show you 2 of my favorite things to do with Mason jar rings.

I am helping my son and his fiance with their upcoming wedding centerpieces; and lucky for me they are using an enormous amount of Mason jars! This leaves me with an enormous amount of Mason jar rings lying around! If that isn't the case for you, Walmart sells them by the box. So here we go. . .
Mason Jar Ring Wreath

The picture above shows the supplies you will need: a styrofoam wreath/ring, burlap, plus a whole bunch of Mason jar rings. Spray paint is optional.
Step 1: Begin with a pool noodle or a hard foam wreath from hobby lobby and cut a slice in it.
Step 2: Wrap a strip of burlap around your wreath or you can spray paint it
Step 3: Begin sliding your rings onto the circle, filling it up as full as you like. Once you are happy with the fullness, tape a strip of duct tape over your sliced wreath section to close it up. Wrap a bit more burlap over this area.
Step 4: Spray paint time. Starting with your Brush Oiled Bronze from Rustoleum, spray small mini squirts of paint all around your rings. Follow this up with mini squirts of Cinnamon spray paint. Keep it light. The idea is just to give it a hint of an aged/rusty look. Change the colors up if you are going for a Christmas or Spring look. Or you can leave them plain and shiny.......you already know I prefer the old rusty look!

Step 5: Add a loop for hanging and/or an optional bow to match the holiday season you are in.
How easy was this!

Next up: Mason Jar Ring Pumpkins
Supplies needed: 19 rings, a 16" piece of twine, spray paint & a pine cone.
Step 1: String the twine through your rings, pull the twine tight, and tie into a knot. At this point your rings may seem kind of wonky. But don't worry we'll fix that.

Step 2: Spray paint time again. Just re-read directions above.
Step 3: Hot glue a pine cone on for a stem.
TIP: Make sure and press the pine cone down a bit - this will help spread out your Mason rings, hold them in place, and remove the prior wonkiness!

WA LA - you have the cutest little Farmhouse Fall Pumpkin. Doesn't get more farmhouse style then Mason jar 'stuff'!!!
Enjoy the following slide show of both wreaths and pumpkins. Add streaming ribbon onto your wreaths (my version was for fiesta) or see how just changing out your pumpkin stem with some other goodies will allow you to keep your little pumpkin up all through the Seasons.
